The benefits and drawbacks of x-rays
Pros:
-Fast, results are available the same day if not hour
-Painless
-No recovery treatment needed
Cons:
The main risk is overexposure to radiation. Although x-ray imaging does not expose an adult human to enough radiation (a single chest x-ray is equivalent to a week dosage of natural radiation, or a long distance international plane flight), constant exposure can increase the chances of cancer in the future. The only serious concern is for undeveloped children, therefore x-rays are not advised for pregnant women. What, if any, health and safety concerns are associated with the technology?
Limitations:
As this technology can only project what absorbs radiation, it would be hard to look at organ damage or to determine how serious interior bleeding is. This would require either other treatments or for surgery.
wel do not require any recovery treatments.
